High Voltage Marine Equipment – Training (Digital Delivery)
Target Audience
This course is primarily designed for marine electro-technical officers and electricians responsible for the operation and maintenance of high voltage marine equipment.
Course Objective
Participants will acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to:
- Manage safety aspects and safe working practices
- Handle troubleshooting, surveys, and maintenance tasks
- Ensure emergency preparedness when operating high voltage equipment
Course Contents
- Introduction
- High voltage theory, technologies, and materials; regulatory requirements
- High voltage plant design aspects
- High voltage equipment design, parameters, and service systems (including commutating and protection systems)
- Safe working practices: documentation, records, checklists, procedures, and risk assessment
- Inspection, testing, and checking of high voltage equipment, including proper use of PPE and testing devices
- Maintenance and basic repair; performance monitoring, surveys, and safe preparation procedures
- Troubleshooting of high voltage equipment and plants
- Emergency operating modes of high voltage installations and preparedness measures
Training Approaches and Equipment
The course combines theoretical and practical training.
- Theoretical instruction is delivered using PowerPoint presentations.
- Practical exercises are carried out on a real high voltage installation of MSB. Participants will gain hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, preparing systems for repair, shore-based surveys, and routine maintenance, in full compliance with high voltage safety rules.
